Baseball is slow. Millions of fans love the game’s relaxing pace and sense of literal timelessness (a game could, hypothetically, go on forever). Scores of others hate the sluggish pace and eschew the MLB altogether because of it. Last month, the league convened a “Pace Of Game Committee” to strategize ways to keep the innings moving. 25 Ways To Speed Up Major League Baseball from Esquire.

Senator Bernie Sanders would be a fantastic addition to the 2016 US Presidential race!!  His entry might provide a civics lesson for voters less informed about democratic socialism, a system that resembles democracy in northern Europe (tangentially related).

Unless, of course, we want to blindly follow the Koch Brothers’ bidding and abolish things like democracy, public education, government, medicare, medicaid, and social security while we give tax breaks to people who don’t need huge tax breaks.

We get to choose.

Bill O’Reilly “does not believe in white privilege,” saying it’s a “big lie that is keeping some African-Americans from reaching their full potential.”

Now back to reality:

  • One in 3 black men can expect to go to prison at some point.
  • A black college student “has the same chances of getting a job as a white high school dropout.”
  • Media cover 19.5% of cases with missing African American children, while 33.2% of missing children cases involve black kids.
  • At least “4 million African-Americans and Latinos experience housing discrimination each year.”
  • While black Americans make up 14% of monthly drug users, “they are 37% of the people arrested for drug offenses.”
  • We could go on and on and on

Yes, this is the same multimillionaire who "exempt[ed]" himself from “that white privilege banner” because he used to “paint houses” and “cut lawns.”

Interesting….

This is one of those news stories where political cartoon humor just might not be appropriate.  This event just cuts right to the core of what is wrong with the death penalty.  You cannot say a crime is so deplorable that it deserves the death penalty because killing another human being is ALWAYS deplorable even if you make it looks sweetly peaceful.

According to UN calculations, one child is killed every hour in Gaza.  The Israeli Broadcasting Authority has banned a radio ad from human rights group B’Tselem listing out the names of some of the dead Palestinian children from the past 17 days of conflict.  The UN Human Rights Council has voted to launch an independent investigation into human rights violations in Israeli operations in Gaza. 29 voted in favor and 17 abstained. The sole “no” vote belonged to the United States.  Clashes erupted in the West Bank as protests mounted against Israel’s shelling of a UN school in Gaza.

It is outrageous that the US and Israel won’t stand up against the slaughter of children.  Has the world learned nothing from the tragedies of the Holocaust, Khmer Rouge, and dozens of other conflicts where children were sent into battle or slaughtered in war?

JON STEWART LEARNS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT ISRAEL

Many have accused Jon Stewart of being pro-Hamas for expressing sympathy for the residents of Gaza, where more than 500 people have been killed — including at least 100 children — in recent fighting with Israel.

More than 25 percent of the Palestinians killed have been children.

Disgusting that a miliary could tolerate collateral deaths of children!!!!!!!!!
